We are excited to invite applications for the role of Chief Executive Officer of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) and Senior Vice President, Chief Nurse Executive. This pivotal position offers a unique opportunity to lead at the intersection of nursing leadership and strategic health care initiatives.
About the Role:
As the Chief Executive Officer of AONL and Senior Vice President, Chief Nurse Executive, you will serve as a key national leader, collaborating with clinical, policy, and health care system leaders. Your role involves advancing the mission of AONL and the AONL Foundation, and working closely with our Chief Physician Executive to drive important workforce strategies. You will also be an integral part of the executive management team, championing nursing issues and supporting the overall vision and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and represent nursing initiatives, serving as the principal executive for nursing within the association.
Develop and execute strategic plans in collaboration with the AONL Board, ensuring alignment with membership needs and organizational goals.
Provide strategic direction and innovative leadership for AONL's programs and services, enhancing networking, education, and professional development for nurse leaders.
Foster strong relationships with AONL affiliates and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and synergy.
Guide the AONL Foundation in its mission to bridge science and practice, shaping the future of nursing leadership.
Oversee and support a high-performing team dedicated to AONL and Foundation objectives.
Contribute to the association's workforce strategies, offering support, research, and tools to advance the field.
Actively participate in the executive management group to uphold the association's mission, vision, and organizational culture.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with a graduate degree; preference for a doctorate degree.
Minimum of 12 years of executive leadership experience.
Proven track record in leading teams, developing educational programs, and managing governance, financial, and operational functions.
