Mills Construction Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. Based in Brookings, SD, this is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to lead project teams from pre-construction through to closeout on vertical building projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project documents, blueprints, and plans to understand the project fully.
  • Prepare material and labor cost estimates and perform accurate take-offs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Managing cost/change control, including change order review, negotiation, and recommendations, delay analysis and ensure tracking of all key project documents, including submittals, RFI’s, change order, invoices and payments, lien releases, etc.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents on schedules, labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain weekly schedules to ensure budget management and tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a vertical building Construction Project Manager/Estimator.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, and relevant Estimating/Project Management software. (We currently use Sage Estimating and are switching to Sage Construction Management - SCM.)
  • Ability to interact with Owners, Architects, Engineers and other subconsultants.
  • Ability to lead project progress meetings and project teams.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and lead with confidence.
